First and foremost, we are thankful and humbled by your decision to allow us to provide your pets with veterinary care. We strive to provide the very best services, medicine and surgery the area has to offer and we hope that you are more than satisfied. If you are not satisfied with any of our services we would strongly recommend that you inform us of those issues. We are nothing without our clients and we know you have other options, we want to do everything in our power to continue to make happy clients and pets. We truly care about your pets.
We have some exciting new changes this year and we wanted to make you aware of them. We are currently providing an online pharmacy for your convenience. This change allows us to provide you with the same products, delivered directly to your home, without our office having the very costly overhead. That overhead, unfortunately, has to be passed on to the customer and we are trying to get away from that. It also increases compliance of the products that we recommend for your pets because, let’s face it, we get busy with all the other important things in our lives. We believe that this will make it much easier for you to purchase your monthly preventatives, such as interceptor or comfortis, food and treats. It also allows us to provide a much larger selection of products. We have also started to write prescriptions for most medical needs, such as antibiotics. This allows you to make the decision to purchase those products wherever you feel comfortable and in most cases, will save you money. We are in the veterinary field to provide services to pets, whether that be for routine maintenance or emergencies, we are trying to get out of the pharmaceutical business and concentrate on the medicine, this in turn provides you with the opportunity to save money on products.
We have also started recommending ProHeart 6 as an option for heart worm prevention. ProHeart 6 provides 6 months of prevention in one single injection done in our office. A physical exam, deworming and a Preventic collar are all part of the package as well. So, your pet gets a physical as well a tick prevention twice a year instead of just once for free with the purchase of ProHeart 6. This product provide the same protection that you have been receiving with Interceptor or HeartGard without having to remember to give or fight to give the pill every month.
February is dental health month and we are making a push to remind you how important your pet’s oral health is to its overall health. Your pet’s bad breath may be a sign of more serious condition. Tooth decay can be very painful, remember when you have had a toothache, and our pets can’t tell us when they hurt. Dental disease can also lead to infection, kidney or heart problems. It is also important to take dental xrays before we perform a dental cleaning just like your dentist does. This allows us to get a picture of what abnormalities might be below the gum line, which is where the real problems lies.
